I am a sleepy head this morning! I could just not get up on time. Usually, I wake up and am pretty much wide awake and hop out of bed....but this morning, I was just so sleepy! However, no more sleeping in mornings for me! I have to be in training for getting up for my job. <yawn>
Sunday, Speedy and I hit the road to head out to a few yard sales. The yard sales were few and far between. We have noticed a trend here lately of the Friday/Saturday yard sale. Folks start the sales early and then don't have them on Sunday. I understand not wanting to have the whole weekend taken up by yard sales.....but it means there aren't many sales to be found on Sunday.
If I recall correctly, Speedy did not find one thing to buy at any of the yard sales. I admit, many were duds, but I got a few lucky (really!) treasures.
First off is an Ikea computer hutch. I had a couple of ideas of what it would be used for, but family consensus is to use it as a homework desk for Nature Boy. I am also keeping lots of our office supplies in the top of the hutch.

It is not so much my plan to keep a computer in the hutch as much as to have him have a place to sit and do his work. We'll see how it goes.
The second lucky find was a weed whacker.
Believe it or not, this also is for Nature Boy. Nature Boy has taken on yard maintenance chores and has been asking and asking me for a weed whacker.
I was lucky enough to find this one for very little money. It is rechargeable (my preference over a gas powered one) and came with two batteries and the charger. It is relatively lightweight. Nature Boy and I have both played with it a bit and it works just fine. And that leads us to lucky find #3. (You many notice a theme here, it was Nature Boy's lucky Sunday!)A guitar. Now, I am not so sure this is a quality guitar, but Nature Boy had said recently he wanted guitar lessons. I found a guitar at a sale and low-balled the lady with a $10 offer. She tried to haggle, but I didn't want to....So, for $10 we have a guitar.Nature Boy is in love with the guitar.....Totally! He has pulled out dh's classical guitar instruction book and is teaching himself how to play. Now that we have the guitar, I brought up lessons again. NB is very interested in lessons. Let me tell you, that's pretty exciting as Nature Boy isn't very interested in taking many lessons (trust me on this, we have given him lots of opportunities over the years and not much has caught his interest). I am guessing we have guitar lessons in our future! And can I tell you, I think it is the sweetest thing watching my kiddo cradling his guitar and already making a little bit of music!
Not a bad bit of Sunday yard sale-ing..

I LOVE the ikea computer hutch!! I will have to look into that one myself!!
Have you tried any once a month cooking yet? I am interested to see what you choose and if you like it.
@boyseverywhere - Haven't done the cooking yet, it's on my list to do some this weekend. Last week when I had planned on doing it, we had a scorching hot week (upper 80's and into the 90's) and it just seemed like to much to do. I have my lists prepared though and hopefully can shop and get some entrees put together Friday and Saturday.
