  • So behind with pics and words!!!  Oh well, better late than never, right?

So, I have made references to those ugly baby birds.  Can you believe I have had them for two weeks already? It is so exciting.  They have grown a ton and yesterday, I peeked at them and saw the shining black eyes peering back at me.....And I realized they have turned cute.  I tried to get a picture of them today, but they were not cooperative.

However, I do have pictures of one of the babies at two days old.  They hatch pretty much embryonic (and ugly!)

Here's the egg that one of the babies came out of....So tiny!

I  bet you can imagine that a tiny, tiny hatchling came out of this egg! It is true!!!

I scooped the baby out of the nest with a teaspoon from the silverware drawer.  It fit in the teaspoon with room to spare! Crazy small!

    And did I mention? Homely!

In more current news, a terrible GI bug has been sweeping through work.  I am very worried I am going to get it.  I wash my hands a zillion times a day and hand sanitizer is my second best friend (part of my two step approach, first wash, then sanitize).  Every day that I wake up and I am not vomiting, I consider a triumph.  Let's hope my immune system carries me through unscathed!!!!

And I have yet another soaker on the needles.  Have you seen those Cascade 220 heathers? So yummy!
