I’ve been busy lately thinking and changing my attitude and self-perceptions.

Did you know that I keep posters over my bed? I think I blogged about this once a really long time ago….I have inspirational/motivational posters and I put them on the ceiling over my bed. Lying in my bed, I am my own captive audience for my own posted affirmations.
I have had a wellness/fitness collage poster up for a very long time. And I have some blown up affirmation cards. (Every time I go to massage therapy I draw an affirmation card. Every now and then one of them really speaks to me and so I blow it up in Publisher and make it into a poster for over my bed.)
In the past several days, I have had an inspirational/affirmation poster overhaul….A kind of an “out with the old, in with the new” kind of thing…….
It started with my most recent affirmation card….I love, love, love the message on this one! It is so appropriate for me right now…after the whole Mirror Incident and then me deciding that the Mirror Incident was not going to be a defining moment for me in a negative way. So, here’s my newest affirmation card/poster.
And it keeps company one that is a bit older, but I really like to read and think about and internalize the message on that one too.
And then I got a bit more creative. I took the Rules For Life text (goes back to that PT blog) and I decided to poster-ize it as well. I have a book by the same person who does the affirmation cards and found a suitable background that I scanned and then I placed the text over it and made a big poster. This is one where I think I can use some repeated reinforcement of the messages.

And then yesterday, I got to thinking about what I want. What are my goals right now in terms of who I am and my health and well-being? And I came up with this:
The picture is from when we hiked the Stowe Pinnacle. That hike was just amazing to me and was a real high in my wellness journey. I still get warm fuzzies thinking about it. It was a nice hike and the top of the pinnacle…..well, I felt both literally and figuratively like I was on top of the world!!!! The background picture is part of the view (it was basically a 360 view up there!) and then the inset picture is me all hot, sweaty and happy on the hike.
Then, as you can see, I wrote out my goals and why I wanted to achieve them and superimposed that text on the picture.
And here are all my posters as I see them when lying in my bed.
I guess I must be a bit of a visual learner, don’t you think?!

Anyway, my posters make me happy and it really does work for me (albeit sometimes slowly) to see the messages over and over again.
